Allhallows to Hoo

An eight mile walk from Allhallows to Hoo. Take the Arriva 191 bus to Allhallows on sea. The first section of this route is not for the fainthearted. The walk can be started at Allhallows Caravan Park or from the British Pilot Pub.

Walk down the hill and cross the carpark

Take the footpath RS9.
Cross the the style and follow the path.

Turn left towards Allhallows Caravan Site.

Keep to the right of Allhallows Yacht Club

Turn right when you get to the remains of a sign.

Go through the woods back onto the foreshore then spot the waymark.

After another balance beam turn left and take a track away from the sea. Follow the path round to the right and then left along RS14

Take a right turn near a methane burning plant.

Keep to the left of the rookery

Follow the path round and turn left up the lane by Coombe House

Continue through the woods. Looking out for the rabbit burrows.

As you walk through the farmyard you will see the Church at St Mary Hoo.

Turn left at the sign post where two paths cross and continue down a path called Bessies Lane, part of the Saxon Shore Way.

At the end of the path turn left onto the road, beware of the (infrequent) buses.

Cross the Ratcliffe Highway with care and turn right then left past the garage.

The path is slightly overgrown

At the of the path turn right into Roper’s Green Lane

Go past Roper’s farm and cross Roper’s Lane, go past the resevoir and turn left at Tile Barn Farm

When you reach the road turn right to take you to Hoo.

Hadlow to West Peckham

Take the 101 bus from Chatham then the 7 bus to Hadlow. Get off the Bus at the Two Brewers Pub.
