Wigmore Library to Whitegates Wood
The walk starts from Wigmore Library which is on the Arriva bus 113 route and is 2.6 miles long
This walk can be found on Ordnance Survey map 148.
Turn right out of the library and left into Fairview Avenue turn left into Spekes Road and after a few meters take the footpath (GB4) on the right.
Go down the steps, across Hempstead Valley Drive and up the steps to Cedar Grove.
Turn left and just before reaching Hempstead Valley drive take the entrance to Whitegate Wood on the right. Continue through the wood coming out at a footbridge over Hempstead Valley Drive.
Go down the ramp and turn back along Hempstead Valley Drive until you reach a footpath into the Hempstead Valley car park on the right.
Follow the footpath to Kingsdown Close and take the public bridleway (GB28) on the right. Continue to Spekes Road and turn right into Fairview Avenue then left into Wigmore Road.
At the bottom of the hill take a right turn into Wigmore Park. Go through the park leaving at the Bredhurst Road exit. Turn right into Bredhurst Road and left into Fairview Avenue back to the library.
