Bus Walk – Tonbridge via Tudeley and Capel to Five Oak Green
This walk from Tonbridge To Five Oak Green is about 5 and a half miles. It is covered by the Ordnance Survey Explorer map 136 High Weald – Royal Tunbridge Wells.

Walk back up the High Street and turn right into East Street past the former Methodist Church.
Turn left into Church st and up to the Parish Church of St Peter and St Paul.
Make you way back to the High Street and down past the Chequers Inn
to the “Big Bridge”
built by Gray Brothers in 1887
Over the bridge take the first left into Medway Wharf Road. On the left you will see a set of locks and footpath sign. Follow the towpath and cross the A26, continue down Postern Lane. Just after the Postern
take a track on the left and turn right onto a footpath.
Just before the path goes over a footbridge take another footpath to the right. Follow the stream for a while then cross a field to a stile and a level crossing over the railway. Continue through the woods and turn left onto the road. At the T junction there is a disused drinking fountain.
take the right turning and you will come to Tudeley Church which has stained glass windows made by Marc Chagall.
The footpath continues at the end of the Churchyard and then across the fields to Bank Farm. Take a left turn and immediately a right into another footpath. Follow this path to the George and Dragon Pub.
Take the path at the left hand side of the pub, through some trees you come to an open field. The path initially follows the the edge of the field to the left then cuts across it.
You will soon see St Thomas a Becket’s Church Capel.
Toadstools in the Churchyard
Exit the Churchyard into Church Lane. The footpath forks right off the lane and into a field.
The path makes a right angle bend in the field and comes out onto a road. Turn left and opposite some houses is a track to Lydd Farm and Oast House.
The footpath goes off to the left, follow this to Five Oak Green.
The former St Lukes Church
The Autocar route 205 take you to Paddock Wood or Tonbridge and route 207 to The Hop farm where you can pick up Arriva buses 6 or 7 to Maidstone.
