Saxon Shore Way Hoo, Upnor and Rochester
The Saxon Shore way has two alternate routes between Hoo and Upnor. The lower route on the shore of the river Medway is only passable at low tides. To walk both routes this 7 mile walk starts at Upnor takes the lower route to Hoo and returns on the upper route and continues to Rochester.
The 197 Arriva bus goes from Chatham to Upnor. The Arriva 140,141,190 and 191 buses go from Rochester to Chatham.

The London Stones marked the boundary of the fishing rights of the City of London. The earlier one date from 1204


The route follows the shoreline which can be muddy in winter.
